Scholarships

Annually, in memory of Lion Barbara Fielding, the Helotes Lions Club awards two $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors who live in the O’Connor High School boundary, as defined by the Northside Independent School District, and who may attend O’Connor or other accredited high school.  Applications must be submitted to the Helotes Lions Club Scholarship Committee by
April 3rd of each year, and the scholarships are announced on April 30^th.  There is no restriction regarding the intended course of undergraduate study.  However, the applicant must select an accredited college or university.  The scholarship will be awarded upon proof of enrollment.

Scholarship applicants must provide the following documentation on or before April 27,2007:

1. High school transcript posted through the most recent grading period.

2. Letter of recommendation from one school official.

3. Letter of recommendation from two non-relatives.

4. A self-description, in narrative form; include hobbies, employment, scholastic and organizational activities and awards, and major educational interest.
